Georgia is offering a reward for information about a suspect accused of robbing a man and then stealing his dog in southwest Atlanta Monday night.
Samuel “J.R.” Harris, 44, was walking his dog, Tequila, near Mitchell Street, S.C., and Joseph E. Lowery Blvd., S.C., around 8 p.m. Monday, when he was confronted by several people. A man was approached and robbed by the group, Atlanta police said Tuesday.
Harris was shot and killed during the robbery. Atlanta police believe he was targeted.
The suspects also stole Tequila, which has not yet been recovered.

Harris’ family said: FOX 5 ATLANTA Wednesday shared that their priority is to find out who killed him and get his beloved dog back.
Harris’ mother, Mary Boykins, told FOX 5 she learned of her son’s death when police knocked on her door the next morning.
“I couldn’t believe it,” she said. “I think I’m still a little in shock. I feel like it was a dream when I woke up.”

The family handed out flyers in the area near the crime scene, urging anyone who may have witnessed what happened to come forward.
“All I hear is that laugh. I’m definitely going to miss that laugh,” Leah Harris, J.R.’s wife of 15 years, told the magazine. “We really need people to come here and teach us everything.”

His sister Liz Robinson added that the family would be grateful to have Tequila back.
“I think she would be very grateful if you just dropped her off in a cage in front of the police station,” Robinson said. “I would be very grateful if any part of him was still around.”

Atlanta Police are asking the public to come forward with any information related to this incident.
