A teen suspect was apprehended by U.S. Marshals after he was accused of shooting a tourist in Times Square.

A teenage suspect accused of shooting and killing a tourist in Times Square has been arrested by federal marshals.

Jesús Alejandro Rivas-Figueroa, 15, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, was arrested by federal marshals on Friday afternoon. As a result of the investigation, U.S. Marshals tracked the boy down to a residence on Saratoga Street in Yonkers, New York. While the boy was being arrested by law enforcement, he broke down in tears.

“If you think you can threaten the lives of those who keep us safe, if you think you can put others in mortal danger and get away with it, think again. We will never pursue you. We’re not going to stop. We’re going to find you, and we’re going to arrest you,” NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban said.

Rivas-Figueroa is accused of robbing JD Sports, a clothing and sneaker store in Manhattan’s Times Square neighborhood. Police said the boy was accompanied by two other boys, ages 15 and 16. The trio entered JD Sports around 7pm on Thursday.

The teens reportedly began stealing merchandise from the second floor of the store. However, a female security guard reportedly confronted them and recovered the stolen items.

Police said Rivas-Figueroa is also a suspect in an armed robbery in the Bronx and a shooting in midtown Manhattan on January 27.

Police said the suspect is an immigrant from Venezuela who arrived in the United States in September. Rivas-Figueroa was being held at an immigrant shelter on West 70th Street, reports said. WABC TV.

A 16-year-old suspect was also arrested by police.

The other 15-year-old suspect was reportedly taken into custody and released after being interviewed by detectives.

The tourist who was shot in the leg has been released from the hospital.
