Florida plane audio reveals moment pilot lost both engines before crashing on I-75 near Naples

A small plane lost both engines and crashed on a busy Florida highway near the wealthy enclave of Naples on Friday, killing the two people on board the plane’s final moments in gruesome footage. The voice captured it.

“Hop-A-Jet 823, we’ve lost both engines, we’re in a state of emergency,” the pilot of the Bombardier Challenger 600 jet informed a nearby control tower.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, two people were pronounced dead.

The plane’s wings clipped the vehicle and dragged it in front of another vehicle, before veering onto the shoulder of the road and colliding with a concrete wall.

“It took only a few seconds to separate us from the car in front of us,” witness Brianna Walker said. “The wing shattered this one car.”

“The plane was centimeters above our heads,” she added. “I made a sudden right turn and crossed the highway.”

Walker said the terrifying experience resembled a scene from a dramatic movie.

“It feels like a movie, it feels unreal,” she added. “We were seconds away from dying.”
