Kristen Welker presses Christie on who he’ll support in 2024 election

NBC’s Kristen Welker on Sunday pressed former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) about who he plans to run in the November election, in what is likely to be a rematch between President Biden and former President Trump. Ta.

Christie said on “Meet the Press” that there are “two really bad options” for the presidential campaign, which is likely to take place next November. Mr. Welker repeatedly pressed Mr. Christie on who he would support given the choice between Mr. Biden and Mr. Trump, but the former governor said he wanted to see if there was a third option in the White House.

“Things are different this time because we don’t know if there’s a third option. So I’m not going to make any promises. What I promise you this morning is that under no circumstances will Donald “I’m not going to vote for Trump. Now, I’m going to look at the complete field before I make a decision about who I’m going to vote for,” he said.

Mr. Christie withdrew from the Republican presidential primary last month after failing to garner significant support in opinion polls. He has been a vocal critic of Trump, and Christie has repeatedly vowed never to support Trump again.

He said he was unlikely to vote for Biden despite his criticism of President Trump.

“No, look, I can’t bring myself to vote for him because I disagree with his policies and have serious doubts about his ability to serve another four years. So do you rule it out? “I can’t imagine doing that,” he said.

When asked why Mr. Welker did not support Mr. Biden since he opposed Mr. Trump, Mr. Christie reiterated that he did not agree with Mr. Biden’s policies, adding: “There are two terrible choices.”

“Look, there are two different issues here. Joe Biden has someone who I don’t think physically expects to serve another four years, but whose policies I fundamentally agree with. “No. While I agree with many of Donald Trump’s policies, I believe his character absolutely disqualifies him from being president.”
