Connecticut pastor charged with selling crystal meth out of church rectory

A Connecticut pastor has been arrested on suspicion of selling methamphetamine from his church parsonage, police said.

A Woodbury United Methodist Church pastor was taken into custody Friday after police received a drug call, authorities said.

The pastor was charged with drug possession with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia.

The pastor was released on $10,000 bail and ordered to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on February 23.

Phone and email messages were left with the pastor and church Monday.

State police said in a news release that the pastor was found in possession of crystal methamphetamine, which had been liquefied into rock and hypodermic needles.

The Waterbury Republican-American newspaper reported that police arrested the pastor at the scene of an alleged drug deal that was allegedly set up after being tipped off by a cooperating witness.
