Haley campaign highlights Trump’s ‘love for … brutal dictators’ on Valentine’s Day

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley’s campaign on Valentine’s Day criticized former President Donald Trump, the Republican Party’s biggest opponent, for highlighting his “love for…brutal dictators.”

His campaign released more than a dozen satirical “love letters” on Wednesday highlighting Trump’s past statements about world leaders from countries considered enemies of the United States.

“Happy Valentine’s Day from Donald Trump to dictators around the world,” Haley’s campaign said in a statement. “For years, Mr. Trump has professed his love for the world’s most brutal dictators and praised their strength and leadership.”

President Trump once famously said of his interactions with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un: Haley’s campaign put it this way in his letter: we fell in love. “

The other letter was from Trump to himself. It says, “Roses are red. Violets are blue. I love dictators and they love me.”

Haley’s camp also prepared one for Chinese President Xi Jinping.

President Trump’s message to Xi said: “He’s strong as granite, he’s strong, I know President Xi of China very well…What can I say? It is moved by the hands of This is a reference to a line President Trump made during a rally in Iowa last year.

Haley’s campaign cited interactions between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Trump.

“I called Russian President Vladimir Putin to congratulate him on his election victory. The fake news media is crazy because they wanted me to blame him. They’re wrong!”

In 2018, President Trump called President Putin to congratulate him on his election victory. President Putin is widely expected to be re-elected in March.

The former U.N. ambassador is trailing Trump ahead of the Feb. 24 South Carolina primary, down 32.7 points, according to The Hill/Decision Desk Headquarters’ latest poll tally.
