Atlanta high school shooting injures 4 students after dismissal

Four students were shot outside an Atlanta high school on Wednesday, school administrators said.

Atlanta Public Schools said in a statement that shots were fired from a vehicle shortly after students left Benjamin E. Mays High School. The shooting occurred in a campus parking lot, according to the school district.

Four students were shot and taken to a local hospital. All suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the school district said.

“No other students or staff were injured,” the school district said in a statement. “All after-school activities have been canceled. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority.”

Atlanta Public Schools Police Department and Atlanta Fire Rescue responded to the scene. The shooting remains under investigation.
