A five-time deported illegal alien is accused of killing a 10-year-old boy in a hit-and-run accident while walking home from school in Midland, Texas.
Rogelio Ortiz Olivas, 50, an illegal immigrant who has been deported from Mexico five times, was arrested. Paid A drunk driver caused a hit-and-run accident that ultimately killed 10-year-old Alex “AJ” Wise Jr.
Midland is less than four hours from the U.S.-Mexico border.
Midland Police say Ortiz Olivas was driving his truck when he hit Wise, who was walking home from school, on Feb. 8. Police said Ortiz Olivas immediately fled the scene and Wise was left in critical condition.
Wise was airlifted to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, where he died from his injuries the next morning. Wise was a student at his IDEA Travis, and his family described him as “the sweetest, coolest, funniest kid you’ll ever meet.” gofundme post.
A memorial fundraiser for Wise will be held on Saturday, February 17th.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials told CBS7 News that Ortiz-Olivas, who is currently in ICE custody, is entering Mexico for the first time on a voluntary departure order after crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. He said he had been deported.
However, Ortiz-Olivas repeatedly returned to the United States illegally and has been deported five times by ICE agents since his first voluntary departure.
Ortiz Olivas remains in custody at Midland Police Department. $110,000 Deposit.
