Amy Schumer shuts down critics commenting that her face is ‘puffier than normal’

Amy Schumer has responded to recent comments about her appearance, telling fans that her “puffy” face is due to a health condition.

Schumer took to Instagram to promote the new season of her show “Life & Beth” and sarcastically thanked fans for sharing their opinions. The comedian has been the subject of these kinds of comments after making several appearances this week leading up to the show’s season premiere.

“For almost 20 years, I’ve enjoyed feedback and reflection on my appearance, as all women do, and right now I’m more swollen than normal,” Schumer began. Ta. “I have endometriosis, an autoimmune disease that every woman should read about.”

The Mayo Clinic explains that endometriosis is “painful” and occurs when “tissue similar to the endometrium grows outside the uterus.”

“There are medical and hormonal issues going on in my world right now, but I’m going to be OK,” Schumer continued.

The comedian advised women to do their own research on women’s health, noting that “historically women’s bodies have been less studied medically than men’s.”

“I also believe that women do not need any excuses or explanations for their appearance,” she continued. “But I wanted to use this opportunity to advocate for self-love and embracing the skin you are in. Like every other woman and human being, I too want to feel confident and look my best. Some days I feel good about myself, and other days I want to pull a bag over my head.”

Amy said she felt “strong and beautiful” and was soon promoting the show, which she wrote, starred in, and directed.

In 2021, the actress took to Instagram to share a photo of herself in a hospital gown and a video of herself revealing that she had her uterus and appendix removed due to endometriosis.

“So here I am, the morning after my endometriosis surgery, and my uterus has come out,” she said at the time. “The doctor found 30 endometriosis spots and removed them. The endometriosis was affecting my appendix, so they removed it. My uterus has so much blood flowing through it. , you know, I was sore, I had some aches. , the gas hurts.”
