Video obtained by the Post shows a man with a knife stabbing a police officer on Long Island before police shoot him, police and officials said.
According to police, at 9:10 a.m., Suffolk County officers were responding to a domestic violence call at a home in Bayshore when a suspect, Tykel Woodson, “held a knife and attacked the officers.” He rushed forward.”
“An officer fell into the snow and Woodson jumped on top of him and stabbed him multiple times,” police said. “The second officer attempted to fire the Taser.”
Police said a third officer then fired his service weapon, striking Woodson, 33. He was pronounced dead at South Shore University Hospital.
The video shows the man running out of the house and lunging at the police officer. In the video, he appears to be swinging a large kitchen knife.
Police said officers at the scene applied a tourniquet to the stabbed officer to stop the bleeding.

He and two other officers were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital.
All three were treated and released.
