The NHL’s Stadium Series is returning to the tri-state area, and the teams playing Saturday are making the most of the moment.
It’s been 10 years since the New York Rangers, Islanders and New Jersey Devils played at Yankee Stadium, and this weekend all three teams and the Philadelphia Flyers will meet at MetLife Stadium.
Saturday’s matchup will feature a battle on the turnpike between the Devils and Flyers.

Both teams enjoyed a family night at the soccer field’s ice rink and entered the stadium on Saturday in top-notch pre-game attire.
The Devils wore Italian jumpsuits with cappuccino cups and embraced “The Sopranos,” “Jersey Shore” and Tommy Cutlets.

The Flyers tapped into their roots by donning sweatsuits in honor of Philadelphia hero Rocky Balboa.

The puck drops between the Devils and Flyers on Saturday at 8 p.m. The Rangers and Islanders will face off tomorrow at 3pm ET. And while the crowd will strongly support the Rangers, the Islanders will be designated the home team.
That’s because the Blueshirts have a contract clause that states they only play “home games” at Madison Square Garden.

All four of the Metropolitan Division’s rivals are in the thick of playoff contention. The Devils are two points away from a wild-card spot, but the Flyers are in the playoffs as the third-place team in the division. The Rangers are in first place with the Isles leading by three points.
