America Ferrara recalled bursting into tears after meeting Leonardo DiCaprio for the first time.
The 39-year-old “Barbie” actress, who is one of the nominees for the next Academy Awards, said during an appearance on Friday’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” that other celebrities are star-struck. He said it could “creep up.”
“A lot of times it’s like someone you’ve had a relationship with since childhood, right?” Ferrara said. “That’s why I’m always so embarrassed.”

She continued, “I’m wondering, ‘Do I want to say this out loud? But okay.'”

After Ferrara won the Best Female Actor in a Comedy Series award at the 2007 SAG Awards for her performance in Ugly Betty, she met her teenage crush DiCaprio, now 49 years old. said.
“I saw Titanic in theaters seven times,” she recalled. ”[I was] 13, 14 [years old], it’s the best time to fall in love with Leonardo DiCaprio, right? ”
“So the first time I went to the SAG Awards, when I won for ‘Betty,’ I was on stage and I was on stage the whole time,” Ferrera recalled. “I was like, ‘I belong here, this is cool.'”
“And Leonardo DiCaprio was there, so I said ‘hello’ to him, and I immediately walked away from him and went around the corner and started crying,” she said.

“And my husband (my boyfriend at the time) was with me, and he was like, ‘I’m so embarrassed right now.’
Ms Ferrara told Ms Myers that her husband, Ryan Piers Williams, whom she married in 2011, had urged her to “stop crying”.
“And I thought, ‘But it’s Leonardo!'” she said.
“I hope Leonardo DiCaprio doesn’t see this,” Ferrara added.
“The good thing is he probably won’t,” Meyers joked.

Meyers, 50, later told Ferrara that he “did the same thing” when he first met Julia Roberts. The comedian explained that the encounter happened backstage in 2014 while he was hosting the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards.

“I walked past her and she was like, ‘Hey, good job.’ She was like, ‘Oh, thank you, nice to meet you.’ “She walked around crying,” he recalled. Her wife wasn’t with me, but I wanted her wife to watch, so I used FaceTime. ”

The “Superstore” alum said she met Hanks, 67, at the Governor’s Awards on Jan. 9.
“Growing up, people were like, ‘Oh, who do you want to be? Like Salma Hayek, like J.Lo?’ I was like, ‘Tom Hanks,'” she said. I remember. Like, that was my goal. And just a few weeks ago, he came up to me and said something really nice.”

Ferrara received her first Oscar nomination for her role as Gloria in last summer’s blockbuster movie “Barbie,” earning a total of eight nominations. She will compete for the award against fellow nominees Jodie Foster, Emily Blunt, Danielle Brooks and Da’Vine Joy Randolph on March 10 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. .
