We’ve lost count of how many times Margot Robbie has appeared on the Barbie doll red carpet or attended photocalls in recent months, but it looks like she’s not done yet. Tonight, she put a new spin on Barbie’s pink and chose Armani’s Prive black and blush for her pink column dress. Robbie pairs it with elbow-length black gloves. Here comes Lily Collins in a very Poor Things-inspired gown with giant sleeves. I love how the white corsage resonates with the sculptural floral pieces that form the center of her dress. Earlier this week, a photo of Cillian Murphy on the cover of GQ magazine went viral. The Oppenheimer star was pictured lying on a sofa wearing a low-cut black vest, an unbuttoned silky blue shirt and lots of talisman-like jewellery. “Cillian Murphy is a man of the moment,” the publication declared. It was a fun look, but Murphy brought it back tonight. Instead, he opted for a classic all-black look with a wool blazer and matching pants. Hello everyone. Welcome to the Guardian’s live blog about the 2024 BAFTA Film Awards. If you’re even remotely familiar with these things, you’ll know that BAFTAS holds a special place in the annual awards season. It’s one of the last major awards ceremonies to take place before the Academy Awards, and not only will we have a clearer idea of who will win the Oscar next month, but it’s also probably the most frustrating.
Oh, sure, everything is great when you’re actually there. You can sit in a large room, watch host David Tennant take everyone’s pants off, and (most importantly) find out who wins what at the exact moment they win. But if he’s watching the Baftas on TV, in accordance with time-honored Baftas tradition, he won’t be able to watch anything until the show ends.
