On Monday’s broadcast of FOX News Channel’s “America Report,” National Border Patrol Council Chairman Brandon Judd said he hopes the border bill passes in the Senate, but that Texas’ He said the only reason it passed in Arizona was because of Governor Abbott (R). California and California are not “under water and flooded,” and we know what works to secure our borders, but we know that other states like Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs and California Governor Gavin Newsom Democrats are “not keen on it.”
Judd said, [relevant remarks begin around 1:30] “Governor. Mr. Hobbs and Governor Newsom looked at what Texas was doing and realized that if it wasn’t for Texas, it would still be under water and flooded right now if it wasn’t for the Texas government.” These are certain things we can do. This means that if we are willing to actually implement the measures that we know have worked in the past, we will see that barriers work, and that barriers can be improved. We’re proving that it works, that our infrastructure works. But unfortunately, we know that Democrats aren’t going to do that. Governor Hobbs hasn’t taken a step forward. [up] Governor Newsom is not at his seat. [up] On a plate. So far, it’s only Governor Abbott. And until other companies follow suit, again, we have no control over this issue. ”
Co-host John Roberts then said, “The bill as originally proposed doesn’t really do anything to stop the pull effect, to stop all the people coming to the border and trying to cross.” Was there something to do?” he asked. ”
Judd replied: There have been some really, really good steps, including making release easier under normal circumstances and raising the bar for credible fear standards. If we remove the judiciary from this process, there is no backlog in the justice system. Single adults, including married couples, could have been detained and detained until they were removed. That way, it would have been possible for asylum officials to first determine what fears were credible, then further board the asylum officials, and then remove them. This bill had some very good policy issues. There were some other bad points as well.I really wanted to see it [go] We appealed to the floor for a discussion and amendment process, but unfortunately we did not get there. ”
