On Tuesday’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Your World,” Sen. Joe Manchin (D-West Virginia) said the border crisis is “Joe Biden’s fault” and that Biden has been on the issue “from day one.” He said he had followed the wrong policy. And Biden’s thinking was, “We wanted to be able to help as many people as humanely possible. And the border has been overrun, incredibly overrun.” Manchin He also said Biden had “waited too long” to address the issue.
Mr. Manchin said:[F]First of all, the border crisis we have is Joe Biden’s fault. From day one I disagreed, and we have discussed this matter many times. In defense of Joe Biden, their argument and basic explanation is that the post-pandemic world is in flux, many people are hurting around the world, and we want to help as many people as possible humanely. I think that’s what I was thinking. Possible. And the borders were overrun, incredibly overrun. And catch and release is horrible. So they waited too long. But now they’re coming to the table to solve the terrible problems we have. And it’s wrong to say we have to wait another 10 months for politics to be right for someone. Reaching this position is wrong, if not worse. So we have a chance to fix it. It needs to be fixed as soon as possible. And I hope that like-minded people will come together. If Democrats and Republicans work together, we have the ability to solve it. ”
