House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) said Wednesday on ABC’s “The View” that former President Donald Trump leads “a growing pro-Putin faction within the Republican Party.”
“Donald Trump considers himself a dictator like Putin,” Jeffries said.
He continued, “Since he said so, we should believe he wants to go down this path. That’s why there is a growing pro-Putin faction within the Republican Party, and it is leading the way. That’s the problem we face with our Republican colleagues.” Donald Trump, outsiders like Tucker Carlson, and inside by Marjorie Taylor Greene and Jim Jordan. ”
Jeffries added, “What we’re saying is that when you support Ukraine, you support America’s national security interests. That’s why this bill is done in a bipartisan way.” We are calling on the House Republican leadership to simply pass or deny the bill.”
“These are investments that will be made in the United States and will generate economic activity for ordinary Americans,” he concluded. Some of my colleagues understand these dynamics, but others are more interested in performative politics and political stunts. That’s no longer needed. In fact, we need to get rid of it and focus on doing the job for the American people. ”
