St. Louis man sentenced for crash killing 4 people and injuring 4 others

A St. Louis man who ran a red light before causing a crash that killed four people in 2023 was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in prison.

Cedric Dixon, 35, agreed to plead guilty to four counts each of manslaughter and second-degree assault, and one count of leaving the scene of an accident. Instead, prosecutors dropped the armed criminal action charge.

Police said Dixon was heading southbound in February 2023 when he veered into the northbound lane to avoid stopped traffic. After running a red light, he crashed into an SUV carrying seven teenagers and a 20-year-old. The impact sent the SUV over the guardrail and onto the road below.

Anthony Robinson, 19, of Jennings, died in the accident. Richard Boyd, 19, of Sullivan. Brianna Dentman Johnson, 18, of Vinita Park. and Corntrail McKinley, 20, of St. Louis. Four other people were injured.

Dixon had his driver’s license revoked at the time, but he fled and turned himself in a few days later.
