A 45-year-old man was shot and killed on the Bronx subway early Friday morning, and police are searching for three suspects who fled the train.
The unidentified straphanger was shot in the torso while aboard a southbound D train entering the 182-183 Street Station at 5:02 a.m., the NYPD said.
Photos showed first responders attempting life-saving measures on the man by the platform while the train remained at the station.
The man was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the NYPD said.
According to the New York City Police Department, three suspects were seen running away from the train, and no one is currently in custody.

B and D trains were forced to detour around the station in both directions while police investigated, and commuters were advised to take Bx1 or Bx2 buses instead, the MTA said.

He was then rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities are currently searching for three suspects who allegedly fled the train in the aftermath, but it is unclear whether they may have been involved in the shooting.
