Bettor forced to wager $6,575 on golfer thanks to viral X post

This sports bettor missed the old phrase, “Be careful what you wish for, and you might get it” when he posted his betting social experiment on X.

“For every like this tweet gets in the next 24 hours, I will bet $5 on Karl Yuan to win the Mexican Open.” Mr. Posted by user @tomandmartys.

He was then humorously taken to the cleaners by a user who liked the post, which earned him 1,315 likes and forced him to pony up $6,575.

Users are clearly feeling remorseful as buyers as strangers flock to like their posts in droves.

“Oh, by the way. You guys are sick. My stupid golf tweets never get more than 5 likes. This must be my enemy trying to bankrupt me. But I’ll let you have the last laugh, you guys.” posted by user.

Ewan won the tournament at 90/1 in open play, started Friday’s opening day at even par, and then won FanDuel with a perfect score of 250/1.

It took this bettor a while to win that kind of money on such longshots, and his biggest single bet was just $3,814.

He had to use four different sports betting apps and travel in person to two different casinos in upstate New York to keep his promise.

Now, he’s hoping Yuan will give him a chance at incredible glory, and although Yuan is eight shots behind the lead, his odds have drastically changed after a difficult start. It’s going down.

“Boom! Birdie 18” @tomandmartys said. “After 18 bad approach shots, I’ll try a round at even par!” How to improve your curls on days when you don’t have them. Brawl Stars with pure guts!

The bettor claims that Yuan has a golf betting model that has been shown to be “expired.”

He wasn’t very strong in the beginning, but as he got closer to the cut, Yuan came within range.
