A Houston man was shot and killed Sunday morning by three gunmen who tried to steal his truck before entering his home, police said.
FOX 26 in Houston reported. David Hicks of the Houston Police Department’s Homicide Unit said the man, who has not been identified, was watching footage from his home’s security camera when he saw three masked men try to steal his truck. He said he did.
Police said surveillance cameras were installed outside a home near the truck.
According to investigators, the three men broke into the house and turned off the lights after missing the truck.

Once inside, the men shot the man multiple times as his wife and children were inside the home.
Officers responded to a shooting on Castle Creek Drive and found the victim inside the home with multiple gunshot wounds.
Hicks told police her family did not see the man get shot.

The man’s wife told detectives that she and her husband witnessed three men trying to break into the truck.
She told investigators she heard gunshots and found the man dead.

The victim’s stepdaughter told investigators she was not inside the home when the shooting occurred and said she did not know why her family was targeted.
