A 25-year-old U.S. Air Force member self-immolates in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington, D.C., shouting “Liberate Palestine!”according to report.
The aviator, who identified himself as Aaron Bushnell, broadcast the entire self-immolation on the streaming site Twitch.
Minutes before his self-immolation, he said in a video: “My name is Aaron Bushnell. I am an active duty member of the United States Air Force and I will not participate in any further genocide.” According to Newsweek magazine.
“I’m trying to stage a radical protest, but it’s not radical at all compared to what people are experiencing in Palestine at the hands of settlers. This is what our ruling class has decided is normal. “It’s a thing,” he added.

Police and other emergency personnel could be heard yelling for Bushnell to get on the ground and calling for a fire extinguisher.
Bushnell lay on the ground burning, and officers finally obtained a fire extinguisher and used it on his smoldering body.
D.C. police said in a post to X that they responded to the scene to assist the U.S. Secret Service.
“The Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 3500 block of International Drive, N.W., to assist the U.S. Secret Service after a person attempted self-immolation in front of the embassy in the 3500 block of International Drive, N.W., at approximately 1:00 p.m..”
“One adult male was transported by DC Fire and EMS to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition. MPD is working with the USSS and ATF to investigate the incident,” it added.

Later, the D.C. Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in front of the Israeli embassy, and upon arrival found members of the Secret Service Uniformed Division extinguishing the fire.

According to an independent reporter named Talia Jane, Bushnell told reporters in an email on Sunday morning that he was “planning a radical protest against the massacre of Palestinians today.”

A LinkedIn page that appears to belong to Mr. Bushnell lists his location as “San Antonio, Texas.” He described himself as “an aspiring software engineer with education and work experience in software development and Linux systems administration, seeking his SkillBridge program to transition into software engineering from the United States Air Force.”
“I have a talent and passion for using code to solve complex problems,” he writes. “I have a real passion for writing software and can’t wait to help drive innovation in the civilian world.”
His profile says he holds a bachelor’s degree in software engineering from Western Governors University and also attended Southern New Hampshire University.
According to his profile, he served in the Air Force for three years and 10 months. His current position is “DevOps Engineer.”
“Through my experience in both leadership and followership roles in the military, as well as in a variety of civilian roles, I have thrived in team environments and developed very good communication skills. “My ability to explain complex technical issues is highly valued by leaders. I bring a lot of those soft skills to any role,” he wrote.
He said he was in charge of “IT & Web Development” for the Christian website “Paraclete Press” for two years from 2015 to 2017.
