NBA picks, best bets Monday

The Brooklyn Nets continue their five-game road trip starting Monday night, hoping to end a losing streak against the short-handed Memphis Grizzlies.

The Nets held out against the Western Conference-leading Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday, but lost a decision 101-86, resulting in their fourth straight loss.

Brooklyn hasn’t eclipsed the 100-point mark in its last three games, but has lost both games by double digits under interim head coach Kevin Ollie.

The Grizzlies have been lacking in depth this season after winning the Southwest Division title a year ago.

It started with star guard Ja Morant serving a 25-game suspension to start the season, then a shoulder injury that sidelined him after a brief return.

While the Grizzlies were eliminated from Western Conference playoff contention due to various injuries, Memphis covered four straight times, including a shock win over Milwaukee before the All-Star break.

Nets vs. Grizzlies predictions

(8pm ET, YES Network)

Due to Brooklyn’s slump in scoring, getting the under has become a winning formula these days. The Nets have won seven of their past eight games.

Aside from defeating San Antonio by 123 points, Brooklyn has been held to 110 points or fewer in seven of the aforementioned eight games.

The home team won both matchups last season, but that doesn’t mean anything because Brooklyn’s win at Barclays Center in November 2022 had Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in the lineup. .

The Nets could be without Ben Simmons. Simmons suffered a sore foot in Saturday’s game against Minnesota and is listed as questionable.

Dennis Schroder will take over point guard duties if Simmons is unable to play.
