LeBron James' agent Rich Paul discusses when he might retire from the NBA.

Rich Paul, LeBron James’ agent, clarified during a podcast on July 3 that there are no definitive plans for James to retire after just one more season. In the discussion on “Game Over” with Max Kellerman, Paul questioned where such assertions originated.

“Who said it would happen like this? [James’] last year?,” he asked during the podcast. He emphasized that no one has confirmed this as James’ final season. Furthermore, Paul mentioned that the decision would ultimately rest with James’ family, particularly Savannah and Zuri, stating that once they give their approval, he can decide freely.

This revelation might catch many off-guard since James is 41, turning 42 midway through the next season. He has previously stated that the upcoming team he signs with in free agency will be the last of his illustrious career.

Recently, James communicated to the Los Angeles Lakers that he would not be returning after an eight-season tenure. This news sparked speculation about which team the NBA icon might join next.

Following Paul’s remarks, the focus has shifted not only to James’ potential new team but also to how many more seasons he might play. There’s a chance he could want to stay with a franchise that isn’t solely focused on immediate victories.

Nonetheless, it seems that James is still eyeing another championship. Regardless of which team he ends up with, he’s likely to remain a contender for titles in the upcoming years.
