DP World Tour pro lambastes Anthony Kim, Talor Gooch as “f***ing idiots”

LIV golfer Tarah Gooch recently made headlines when she said Rory McIlroy would get an asterisk if he won this year’s Masters.

Around the same time, Anthony Kim posted a controversial video on social media announcing his long-awaited return to professional golf.

DP World Tour pro Eddie Pepperell is clearly not a fan of either.

“Within two days, one LIV golfer suggested that Rory, who won a Grand Slam in April, should be given an asterisk, and another player who is idolized and mythologised by many , who returned to professional golf by participating in LIV and said that he was somehow “hated.”Honestly, you damn idiots.” Pepperell. Posted to X, formerly Twitter.

Gooch came under fire across social media following his controversial comments. Golfers, media and fans alike criticized him for his misguided views, as he is a top-level player on the LIV Tour who will not play in the Masters.

Everyone else he mentioned in his comments, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka, will all be in attendance as well.

Meanwhile, Kim posted a hype video on social media that ended with the caption, “Hello haters, I’m back.”

As Pepperell pointed out, golf fans love Kim. He was in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings a little more than a decade ago before injuries derailed his career.

Perhaps Kim was trying to escape in the face of negative reactions to participating in the Saudi-funded LIV Golf Tour.

Either way, Pepperell must have some pretty strong beliefs considering neither of those two players have yet accomplished anything close to what they accomplished as professionals.

The 33-year-old Englishman has two career wins on the European Tour and is currently ranked 241st on the OWGR. He made sporadic starts throughout his PGA Tour career, but his success was limited.

But that didn’t prevent him from saying what everyone was thinking.
