Tight end Darren Waller played three years with the Raiders before being traded to the New York Giants in March 2023.
Waller learned shortly after marrying Las Vegas Aces star Kelsey Plumb that he would play the 2023 season with his new team.
The two-time WNBA champion appears to have had issues with the trade, including whether her husband was traded because then-Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels didn’t get to attend the couple’s wedding. he suggested jokingly.
Waller eventually relocated across the country, and his first season with the Giants was widely considered a disappointment.

Waller finished the season with just one touchdown. The lack of production appears to have led to conversations between Waller and Giants officials to discontinue the tight end, according to a report in the New York Post.
Waller missed several games due to injury during his time with the Raiders. He also missed five games in his first year in New Jersey.

But the 31-year-old Pro Bowl tight end’s NFL career is expected to continue, and Waller will likely return to the Giants in 2024, sources told the Post.

Waller has interests outside of soccer and released his second rap album last year.
A healthy Waller has the potential to be the centerpiece of the Giants’ offense next season as the team looks to bounce back from a disappointing 2023 season.

The Giants acquired Waller in hopes of putting up numbers similar to his 2019 and 2020 seasons. He totaled 197 receptions, 2,341 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns over the past two years.
