Lawyer for Queens squatter Brett Flores promises big ‘revelation’

Attorneys for Queens squatter Brett Flores are refusing to let the couple vacate the couple’s $2 million dream home, but a “reveal” is on the horizon that could upend the scenario for the unwanted tenant. I promised that it would be done at my place.

Attorney Dennis J. O’Sullivan came to Flores’ defense Friday, telling the Post that his client was dealing with “personal issues” and caring for a sick infant.

“We intend to make a revelation that will flip the narrative and the current homeowner is not the victim,” O’Sullivan said, without providing further details.

Flores, 32, claimed he had a deal with the Douglaston home’s former owner, who died in January 2023, to remain in the home. And he’s had it for months, since it was purchased by Susannah and Joseph Landa in October 2023.

The couple has not yet entered the house, but they have also hired a celebrity security guard to keep an eye on the house until the situation is resolved.

O’Sullivan said Flores was a 24-hour live-in caretaker for former homeowner Barney. Squatters were paid $3,000 a week, according to court documents.

Flores has repeatedly claimed that even though the Landas legally purchased the property, the previous owner gave them “permission” to live in the home.

“When Bernie died, he stayed in the house after Bernie died,” he said.

O’Sullivan confirmed that Flores was still occupying the home, but a security guard stationed outside told the Post on Friday afternoon that he had not seen Flores outside for some time.

Despite backlash from the community since his story made headlines, Flores is standing his ground and trying to care for his sick baby, his attorney said.

“He’s fine. He’s a tough kid,” O’Sullivan said. “He’s dealing with his own personal issues. His young son has a lung disease, so I think he’s putting more emphasis on that.”

O’Sullivan said she did not know if her son lived at Flores’ home.

The situation has infuriated neighbors, with one man banging on the front door of the house to try and talk to the squatters.

“Hi, Mr. Flores, I’m your neighbor!” I’m your neighbor,” Chuck Corbisiello, 64, shouted as he repeatedly knocked on the door.

“Mr. Flores!” he then shouted to the mailbox in the door.

“I thought I’d welcome him to the neighborhood and tell him how happy I was to meet him,” he sarcastically told the Post.

Another man driving by yelled, “Squatters get out!” Evict the illegal occupiers! ” at his home.

The Randa family was looking forward to moving into a home that was perfect for them. It’s close to relatives and is ideal for my son Alex, who has Down syndrome.

“All I want to know is that I could die tomorrow and he’ll be next to my brother,” Susana Landa told ABC 7.

Flores apparently not only lives in the house rent-free, but also lists rooms in the mansion for rent. Meanwhile, the Landas are paying all the bills on the property, including thousands of dollars in utility bills.

The couple is trying to evict Flores, but he is protected because he was recently declared bankrupt. Since he bought her home in October, he has repeatedly thwarted Flores’ antics, including attending five hearings in civil court without a lawyer.

A court hearing is scheduled for April in Landlord/Tenant Court.
