Britney Spears’ ex-husband Sam Asghari has reflected on their relationship after the former couple split last year after 14 months of marriage.
The 29-year-old actor and model and the 41-year-old pop star tied the knot on June 9, 2022 after dating for five years. Asghari filed for divorce from Spears in August 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The ex-couple’s separation date was listed as July 28, 2023.
In a recent interview with People magazine, Asghari expressed gratitude for the years they spent together.
“It was a blessing to be able to share your life with someone for so long, and then people grow apart and people move on,” the fitness trainer said.

Asghari denied rumors of animosity between him and the “Toxic” singer, vowing he would “never say a bad word” about his ex-spouse.

A few days later, Spears broke her silence about the breakup in a video she shared on Instagram. She posted a clip of herself dancing in her skimpy outfit, along with a caption that spelled out her thoughts about her separation from Asghari.
“As everyone knows, Hessam and I are no longer together… I’m a bit shocked because six years is too long to be with someone… but honestly, it doesn’t matter to anyone, so… , I’m not going to explain why here!!!, ” she wrote.

Asghari’s latest statement about his marriage to Spears comes as he prepares to celebrate his 30th birthday on March 3. In an interview with People, Asghari shared her thoughts on aging.
“When I was in high school, I thought 30 years old was very old,” he says. “But all the people I talk to find that as they get older, they gain wisdom and experience, so the older they get, the more they enjoy life.
“And I think life’s experiences are beautiful, so I’m really excited to have that fulfilled.”

Asghari told the outlet that she focuses on maintaining a “healthy lifestyle.” In December, he revealed that he had lost “35 to 40 pounds” after his split from Spears, Page Six reported.
