Republicans Celebrate Trump’s Supreme Court Victory

Republicans on Monday widely celebrated President Donald Trump’s landslide victory at the Supreme Court after the court ruled 9-0 that Colorado could not disqualify Trump from voting. , deemed this “a major victory for voters and a historic defeat for left-wing activist judges.”

The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) issued a historic and unanimous decision on Monday, the day before Super Tuesday. The court held that only Congress had the power to use the 14th Amendment’s “insurrection clause” to remove candidates from the ballot. In doing so, the court overturned the Colorado Supreme Court’s controversial 4-3 opinion.

Republicans across the board celebrated this major victory. Rep. Steve Scalise (R-Louisiana) called the victory “a sweeping rebuke to the liberal activist judges who are trying to interfere in the 2024 election.”

“I’m glad the Supreme Court got this right,” he added.

“The Supreme Court threw out the Colorado voting case. President Trump will rightfully remain on the ballot,” said Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.).

“The unanimous decision is an undeniable message to the radical left seeking to use the court against President Trump,” he continued.

Sen. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) called the ruling “the right decision.”

“I’m glad to see the Supreme Court stand up to the far-left’s attempts to undermine our democracy,” he added.

“SCOTUS rightly defended Americans’ right to vote for Trump,” exclaimed Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.). “The left’s attack on democracy cannot stand”:

Sen. Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) said the ruling is “a victory for our democracy and a major defeat for those who seek to abuse our Constitution for short-term political gain.” Sen. Rick Scott (R-Florida) said of the ruling: The ruling is “a major victory for voters and a historic defeat for left-wing activist judges.”

“It’s a huge victory, not just for President Trump, but for all of America! I’m glad to see SCOTUS unanimously got this right,” said former Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.).

“Finally proven innocent. President Trump remains on Colorado’s ballot. SCOTUS officially announced its verdict.” Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado) added, “Trump 2024.”

“Breaking news: The Supreme Court is defending democracy from radical left-wing junior judges,” said Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.). “Despite the endless political witch hunt against Donald Trump by the far left, the Constitution and our democracy prevailed.”

Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) also celebrated the victory, declaring, “The American people will decide the next president, not partisan actors trying to undermine the election.” Members of Congress also declared victory.

President Trump had an immediate reaction to the news on Monday, writing on Truth Social, “Big win for America!!!”
