Video circulating online shows the aftermath of a two-vehicle crash involving a Tesla Cybertruck that crashed into the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel sign in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
According to the Beverly Hills Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 9600 block of Sunset Boulevard. Just before midnight Sunday, there were reports of a two-vehicle collision.
Officers told Fox News Digital that an incident report is still being compiled and there is no information related to injuries or property damage at this time.
Immediately after the incident, X user @jackdidthatt posted that the car belonged to a friend and that a hotel attendant was driving it at the time of the accident, but later retracted his original post accusing the attendant of joking.
“This is true. The incident happened around 2am and I created this joke tweet with the valet and the hotel employees. I didn’t expect it to explode, so I stopped driving my new Cybertruck. I thought it would be funny that it was the attendant who caused the collision and not my friend… BHH (Beverly Hills Hotel) is not responsible!” @jackdidthatt posted a screenshot of a message allegedly from the owner of the valet service company. Tweeted with an attachment.
Another user wrote, “I don’t think there’s any photo that feels more Hollywood than this one.”
Elon Musk also expressed his opinion on this accident and commented on X (formerly Twitter).
“The Cyberbeast is faster than a Porsche 911, but it looks like a truck, so perhaps the attendants weren’t expecting much acceleration,” Musk wrote.
Brittany Williams, public relations director for the Beverly Hills Hotel, confirmed to Fox 13 that no valet employees or hotel staff were involved in the incident.
Fox News Digital has reached out to the Beverly Hills Hotel for comment.
