President Biden lost the first round of the Democratic presidential nomination race in American Samoa on Tuesday to an unknown candidate.
The Fox News Decision Desk predicted Jason Palmer, a self-described entrepreneur and investor, would win the American Samoa caucus, receiving four delegates to Biden’s two.
On his campaign website, Palmer describes himself as a 52-year-old Baltimore, Maryland, resident who has worked in leadership and executive positions at Microsoft and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

In addition to his executive-level experience, Palmer said he also has 25 years of experience in small and medium-sized businesses.
Mr. Biden’s loss to Mr. Palmer came amid a series of Super Tuesday victories over his opponents, author Marianne Williamson and Minnesota Congressman Dean Phillips.
Early in the evening, the Fox News decision-making desk was in Iowa, Maine, Vermont, Virginia, Alabama, Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Colorado and Phillips’ home state of Minnesota. called to support Biden.

In the race for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, Biden lost in the U.S. territory to his rivals at the time, with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders receiving 10% of the vote and then-Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard receiving 29%. It was only 8% compared to the previous year. New York billionaire Michael Bloomberg has 50%.
This contest was the only one that Bloomberg won, despite spending over $500 million on his entire election campaign.

As a territory, American Samoa does not have voting rights in general presidential elections and is only allowed to send delegates to the convention during the primary election period.
The Biden campaign downplayed the loss, pointing out that fewer than 500 votes were cast in the race.
