MSNBC national policy analyst John Heileman said on Tuesday’s “Deadline” that he believes former President Donald Trump’s voters are “running out of energy.”
“Having done the first three early state primaries, which I love and which I love historically, I’ve done it all, I love doing it, I love it. Love. Those kind of things,” Heileman said. It was very depressing to do that, not just because of what Trump said about the Republican Party that Trump would win, or because that was a foregone conclusion, but simply because there was a lack of energy in the world. Not just. A kind of slack acquiescence from everyone there. We’re hearing that on the Democratic side as well. It’s true that there are a lot of Democrats who aren’t excited about Joe Biden, okay, we’re for it. But we don’t love it. What’s surprising is on the Republican side.”
He added, “Just to give you the basic metrics, there aren’t any schoolyard signs, there aren’t as many people attending rallies. Yes, he can still fill arenas, but he’s not going to hold any events in the state for a week.” Republican, turnout is one metric, his performance is one metric, but another metric is how it actually is. That’s completely consistent with real-life experience of seeing things happen. Many of Trump’s supporters aren’t the die-hards who completely adore him, but many of them are. I’m thinking “I’m deaf.” I hate Joe Biden so I guess I have to deal with this clown. ” That’s what it looks like outside. The Trump movement is not what it once was. ”
