Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC panel laughed and mocked Virginia Republican voters who listed the border and immigration as their top priorities during Super Tuesday coverage.
Far-left broadcaster Joy Reid says white working-class Republican voters are making decisions based solely on race and are “reaping economic benefits” from President Biden, who is “white working class himself.” He accused her of not being grateful.
“They’re voting based on race,” she said. “They’re voting for the idea of Brown infiltration across the border.”

Biden’s former White House press secretary, Jen Psaki, agreed, saying with a laugh that Reade said with a laugh, “Look at some of these exit polls. I live in Virginia. Immigration is the biggest issue. It was,” he added.
Maddow added, “Virginia does have a border with West Virginia,” but other panel members laughed.
Former President Trump solidified his status as the Republican front-runner on Tuesday night by easily winning Virginia as part of a series of primary victories over Nikki Haley. The committee cited exit polls that showed immigration was a top priority for Republican voters.
“What do you think?” Psaki said. “Trump has instilled in people a fear that people who don’t look like them are a threat to them.”

Maddow said Republicans have criticized Biden’s border policies for years as record numbers of migrants enter the U.S. each election cycle, especially during Democratic administrations. “It reminds me of the border,” he complained.
“You make these things an issue and you make them the boogeyman…as long as you have a Democratic incumbent in charge,” she said. The committee criticized President Trump’s role in pushing through this year’s bipartisan border bill, saying he did not want to resolve the issue.
Conservatives pounced on MSNBC for frivolous segments.
“Democrats are laughing about illegal immigrants who are hurting your city,” House Judiciary Republicans posted on X Tuesday. “Maybe I should read about Laken Riley. It’s disgusting.”
Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student at Augusta University, died while jogging on a trail around the University of Georgia campus. Jose Antonio Ibarra, a 26-year-old Venezuelan national who was living in the United States illegally, was charged with murdering her.
X’s popular account End Wokeness also mentioned Riley, whose family held a funeral on Friday.
“Jen Psaki and Rachel Maddow are mocking West Virginians who are concerned about immigrants despite being far from the border,” the account reads. “Athens, Georgia is 1,941 miles from the border. Ask Laken Riley’s parents if distance matters.”
Even prominent anti-Trump voices took aim at MSNBC in this corner. Joe Walsh, a former Republican lawmaker and fierce critic of Trump, called the president “totally arrogant.”
“The talking heads on MSNBC are making a mockery of the American people,” commentator Joe Walsh wrote on Tuesday. “It’s making a mockery of them. It’s making a mockery of Americans who are concerned about immigration. It’s pretty arrogant and out of line. It doesn’t make the Democratic Party look good.”
