UConn’s Dan Hurley points to rival fan and says they’ll ‘get hurt’ in tense moment caught on camera

Yukon Huskies men’s basketball coach Dan Hurley lashed out at fans after his team’s 74-60 road win over the Providence Friars on Saturday at Dunkin Donuts Center.

Hurley was caught on camera staring at Flyers fans in the stands before motioning for someone to advance towards him.

“Look at this guy, come here, come right over, you’re going to get hurt,” Hurley can be heard saying, even pointing at them as security guards looked on.

When Hurley tried to walk into the area where fans were sitting, security quickly stopped him and told him to go into the locker room.

When Hurley entered the locker room, Yukon fans were excited and cheered as the coach raised his arms to encourage his team.

In the postgame press conference, Hurley elaborated on the exact cause of the heated spillover with opposing fans.

“Don’t yell at me even if you’re 20 years old.” Hurley told reporters:. “You should wait until the game is over and leave.”

“If he hadn’t been barking at me, I wouldn’t have said anything to him. There was a similar thing at Butler where the fans were like, ‘This sucks, you guys stink, you’re not winning anything. No,” he said. And I said to him, ‘I have a national championship ring,'” Hurley continued.

“You should wait until the game is over and leave. If he hadn’t been barking at me, I wouldn’t have said anything to him… You shouldn’t be mouthing off at that point in the game. From here Get out. Just go,” he concluded.

After the team’s 85-66 loss to the Creighton Blue Jays on February 20, Hurley again got into a fuss with fans.

Hurley appeared visibly irritated when Creighton fans stormed the court after the win and yelled at multiple fans on the way to the locker room.

In one video, Hurley can be heard saying:I’ll knock you out” he pointed towards the stands.

College basketball fans on social media got excited over a recent episode between Hurley and Providence fans.

“Isn’t it pretty cool that a grown man is telling his students he’s going to hurt them?” someone wrote to X.

“I respect Dan Hurley as a coach, but why does he keep trying to pick fights with the fans? Set a good example for the players.” said the fan.

“I’m making half a million no matter who he’s talking to. It doesn’t matter if it’s an adult or a toddler. Harley’s going to be thrilled.” one fan joked.
