The mother of a 13-year-old Utah girl discovered disturbing messages exchanged between a man and her daughter on social media. Her worried parents called the police, but it was only a matter of time.
Miguel Angel Vega Sedano, a 21-year-old illegal alien, was arrested Friday and charged with child kidnapping, a first-degree felony, and two third-degree felony counts of possession of a forged document or device.
The girl’s mother contacted Granite School District police last week after Sedano suggested on Instagram that she was allegedly planning to kidnap the girl from her West Valley City school.

Police eventually found Sedano waiting for the girl in his car on school grounds, according to a probable cause statement. Officers reportedly found a fraudulent Social Security card and a fake permanent resident card on his person.
“Granite District Police Department apprehended the suspect as he entered campus after being absent from school for approximately 30 minutes. West Valley City Police Department responded,” the Granite School District said in a statement obtained by KTVX Friday afternoon. , a man was taken into custody.” ”
