Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel targeted former President Trump near the end of the broadcast, saying after reading the former president’s post about his performance in Truth Social: “Isn’t your prison sentence over? ” he added.
President Trump appeared on Truth Social on Sunday and criticized Kimmel, saying, “Has there ever been a worse Oscar host than Jimmy Kimmel?” This will be Kimmel’s fourth time hosting the glitzy awards ceremony.
“Was there ever a worse host at the Oscars than Jimmy Kimmel? In an interview with CNN ahead of the show, Kimmel said he didn’t plan to spend much time talking about politics. But he said, “Something might come out and I put it in at the last minute.”
Kimmel mentioned Trump in the interview, saying, “One of the most enjoyable things about my job is knowing that he doesn’t like to be teased or made fun of.” “And sometimes he reminds us that he hates it and is mad about it. So I love it. I have some fun with it.”

Jimmy Kimmel wonders, ‘Will things get better if Trump dies?’
Kimmel also told CNN that he would like to have Trump appear on his show.
”I would absolutely love to have him on the show,” Kimmel said. “I think there’s a lot of questions I’d like to ask him and I’d like him to actually answer them. I think most of the interviews he does don’t require those.”
Earlier in the show, Kimmel also took aim at Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.), who gave the Republican response to President Biden’s State of the Union address.

“Emma Stone is nominated for her fifth Oscar, right?” Kimmel said. “It was incredible on ‘Poor Things,'” he added. “Emma played a grown woman with the brain of a child, like the woman who spoke out against the State of the Union on Thursday night.”
Stone won Best Actress for this film.
