Former President Donald Trump is using his 2024 presidential bid to raise awareness of the plight of Angel families like Laken Riley’s parents, who were allegedly killed at the hands of illegal aliens. I am trying to do. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden said he should not have called the suspected murderer “unlawful.”
Over the weekend, Trump held a campaign rally in Rome, Georgia, where angel parents Jason Riley and Alison Phillips attended and met with the president.
“Sixteen days ago, Laken went for a morning jog,” Trump told the audience.
She was in great shape. She wanted to keep herself that way. And she never came back. They knew something was wrong. Illegal alien criminals intentionally released into our country by Joe Biden [charged with murder], And…he freed tens of thousands of people in this way. Tens of thousands. Because, you know, they come from prisons and mental hospitals. He released them into our country. [Emphasis added]
“Mr. Biden has instituted a formal policy that provides immunity from deportation for illegal aliens who enter the United States,” Trump said in Rome. “So when this monster showed up at the border, he was immediately released under a program created by perverse Joe.”

Pressured to admit to Riley’s murder, Biden mispronounced her name as “Lincoln” Riley during his State of the Union address. Biden also referred to his own murder suspects as “lawless offenders” during his speech, while downplaying his murder case.
“But how many of those thousands are killed by law enforcement?” Biden said.
Later, in an interview with MSNBC over the weekend, Biden suggested he regretted using the word “illegal” to describe Ybarra, but also said he mispronounced Riley’s name. was not mentioned.
“I shouldn’t have used ‘illegal.’ It’s ‘undocumented,'” Biden said. “…I don’t mean to treat any of these people with contempt. Look, they built the country. They’re the reason our economy is growing. We have borders and more Must manage an orderly flow, but I do not share his opinion [Trump’s] Look at all. ”
On February 22, Riley jogged around the University of Georgia (UGA) campus in Athens, Georgia. When she did not return for several hours, her roommate called the police, who searched for her.
Riley’s body was found beaten in a wooded area later that day.
The next day, Jose Antonio Ibarra, 26, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, was arrested and charged with Riley’s kidnapping and murder. Ibarra arrived at the U.S.-Mexico border near El Paso, Texas, in September 2022 and was quickly detained inland by the Biden administration’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials said. was released on.
More than six months before Riley was killed, Ybarra had been arrested in New York City on suspicion of assaulting a child and violating motor vehicle regulations. The city’s custody policy ensured that Ybarra would be released from jail instead of being turned over to ICE agents.
