Former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David M. Friedman sees some obvious problems with President Joe Biden’s response to the war between Israel and Hamas.
“Israel is a great friend of ours,” he tells Dave Rubin. “We trust them, we are good friends, and we think their morals and values are the right ones. What we need to do to end this and protect our people as quickly and resolutely as possible. Please do this.”
“If Biden had gotten that message here and acted on it, this war probably would have been over by now, and there’s a good chance the hostages would come back,” he added.
Friedman believes one of the key problems with Biden’s war response is that he does not recognize that Hamas is adjusting its response “based on the American response.”
“That’s why every time the United States uses words like “there must be a ceasefire,” “this is an indiscriminate use of force,” and “the effort has gone too far,” every time Biden does something like that, the chances of a ceasefire for the hostages are It’s getting low.’ It’s liberating. That would make it even more expensive for Israel to reach an agreement,” Friedman explained.
“I don’t think he believes it either,” Rubin said, noting that Biden may just be “appeasing the base.”
Friedman agrees.
“I don’t think he knows either. I mean, he’s at the ice cream shop, grabbing an ice cream cone and making these comments like, ‘Oh, we’ll get a deal in a few days.’ ,” Friedman says.
“As soon as he does something like that, Hamas leaders lick their lips: ‘Wow, this is great, we now have the power to make Joe Biden look like a liar or a hero. “There is,” he continued. , He has given us this power. ”
