Police are searching for a deranged man who threw a flaming container at a group of straphangers on a Manhattan subway platform last month.
Video released by police on Wednesday shows a man holding two flammable cans containing flammable liquid at a turnstile inside the West 28th Street subway station on Feb. 5 at around 7:40 p.m. was.
Police said the suspect then threw one of the containers on fire at the group on the southbound Platform 1.
The container did not hit anyone and there were no reports of injuries. The suspect fled the station on foot, according to the NYPD.

Police said they are searching for a man who is approximately 35 years old, 6 feet tall, with a slim build and brown eyes.
He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, jacket, pants, and sandals all in black.
The attempted arson is part of a spate of recent crimes on Big Apple transit systems starting in 2024, prompting Gov. Cathy Hochul to deploy more than 700 members of the National Guard and State Police to conduct controversial bag searches. I decided to send him.
