Hillary Clinton and “Hamilton” star Lin-Manuel Miranda are hosting a Broadway-themed fundraiser together, reportedly attracting the attention of President Biden’s campaign.
The New York Times reported that the April 3 event will feature a performance of “Suffus: The Musical,” which Clinton co-produced. reported on thursday. Representatives for Biden’s reelection campaign and Miranda did not immediately respond to ITK’s requests for comment.
The Broadway musical, which opens next month, depicts women’s suffrage in the years leading up to the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920, giving women the right to vote.
Former Secretary of State Clinton is a longtime Broadway fan. In 2018, her political action group Onward Together held a contest that gave the winner the chance to see “Broadway Plays and Chardonnay” with Clinton.
Miranda has been an outspoken supporter of Biden. In 2020, the “Mary Poppins Returns” actor appeared in a Spanish-language ad to boost support for Biden among Puerto Ricans living in Florida.
