Blaise Taylor, former Arkansas State star, arrested on suspicion of poisoning, killing pregnant girlfriend

A former Arkansas State football player was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of being involved in the death of his pregnant girlfriend.

Blaise Taylor, currently on staff at Texas A&M, is accused of poisoning Jade Benning and killing her and her unborn child.

Benning was rushed to hospital on February 25 last year. Taylor called 911 to tell Benning she was having an allergic reaction. As ESPN reports, she was unable to speak to police before her death because her condition rapidly became critical.

Due to the death of the fetus, Taylor was charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Taylor is believed to be the child’s father.

U.S. Marshals arrested Taylor in Utah, where he is facing charges from Nashville police. Taylor worked for the Tennessee Titans.
