Washington DC hosts Great American State Fair for America250

Ambassador Monica Crowley discussed the Great American State Fair, which will change the face of the National Mall in Washington, D.C., from June 25th through July 10th. This 16-day celebration marks America’s 250th anniversary and will showcase pavilions from all 50 states and six territories, a massive Ferris wheel, traditional games, a rodeo, all with the goal of bringing the nation together.

Summer has arrived, bringing with it the excitement of state fair season. The Great American State Fair kicks off on Thursday on the National Mall. Officials describe this large-scale event as a sort of “modern-day World’s Fair.”

Entry is free for everyone, featuring over 150 exhibits that represent every state and U.S. territory, along with a giant Ferris wheel.

Throughout the summer, 250 events are lined up in America, touted as a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ travel experience.

Visitors can expect to explore state pavilions, engage with industrial exhibits, and take part in family-friendly attractions, film showings, and live music. There will also be military performances and daily cultural programs.

For those beyond Washington, D.C., some of the nation’s well-known state fairs deliver a wonderful mix of food, entertainment, and local traditions.
