New evidence has been discovered in the disappearance of 22-year-old Mizzou college student Riley Strain.

The Nashville Metro Police Department said Sunday that Strain’s bank card was found “on an embankment between Gay Street and the Cumberland River.”
Local residents Anna Clendening and Brandi Behnen were searching the area to help police gather evidence in Strain’s disappearance when they discovered the card in trash on the ground. Both women expressed that they cannot simply sit back and do nothing.
“There’s a lot of trash in there. It’s hard to sift through and there’s a lot of clothing, shoes, bottles, cans and everything. I’m not really sure how they found it,” Clendenning said. WSMV. “I’d like to say it was just dumb luck, divine intervention, but it just sat there.”
Strain, 22, had been visiting downtown Nashville’s Broadway area before she went missing on the night of March 8.th He was bar hopping with his fraternity brothers.
The Mizzou college student was last seen on video walking in the opposite direction from a hotel after being kicked out of Luke’s 32 Bridge bar on Gay Street.
An anonymous homeless man living along the riverbank who may have last seen Strain spoke about his recent sighting and released a statement to the press.
“I heard a commotion,” the unidentified man said. WZTV. “We turned around. He almost fell. The last bush there caught him…He was very, very, very drunk…I’ve never seen anyone stumble so hard. I had never seen it before.”
Strain’s parents claim their son was “overserved” by the bartender, and the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission is currently investigating further. However, TC Restaurant Group and Luke’s 32 Bridge claim in a statement that only one drink was served to Mr Strain.
“During Riley’s visit to Luke’s 32 Bridge, our records indicate that he purchased and was provided with one alcoholic beverage and two glasses of water. At 9:35 p.m., our security team Based on our standards of conduct, we made the decision to escort him from the venue through the Broadway exit at the front of our building. He descended the stairs with one of the members of our party. Riley and The person who was with me did not come out and went back upstairs.”
Police do not currently believe foul play was involved.
Private investigators continue to search the area using boats, K9s, and sonar technology.
