Parents defeated Maine’s LD1735, the Gender-Affirming Health Care Act, in January, but Democrats are not taking that loss quietly. Instead, the state Legislature plans to unveil what experts warn is an even more sinister version of a new form of child trafficking.
LD1735 died on a 12-0 vote in the state Senate Judiciary Committee as parents stood up for their children and demanded the state repeal. Lawyers and other experts confirmed to the Daily Caller that LD 1735 makes Maine a “sanctuary state” for minors seeking gender reassignment treatment and denies them parental rights from out-of-state parents. .
Maine LD 1735 died in committee because parents across the country stood up for their children! It’s time to celebrate this victory, but don’t be complacent. They won’t stop coming, and you can’t stop protecting them!

Parental rights activists are now warning that Democrats in the Maine Legislature have not given up on their intent to strip parents of essential rights. If LD 1735 fails, radical trans activists are counting on their new bill. LD227succeed. (ROOKE: Leaked documents reveal trans cults are more advanced than we previously realized)
LD 1735 worked to update the state’s definition of what abuse is to include parents who deny “gender-affirming care” to their children. “Gender-affirming care” is used to describe the use of irreversible hormone suppression and hormone therapy, which can lead to chemical castration, and surgeries such as mastectomy, phalloplasty, and vaginoplasty. It is a euphemism used by people. This bill not only strips Maine residents of parental rights, but also removes parental rights from out-of-state parents by refusing to send children who come forward to the state for transgender medical care back to their home state. It also deprived the child of parental rights.
Parents were understandably concerned and confused as to why the State of Maine had proposed such a harmful bill and succeeded in blocking the bill from being voted on in the full session. But Democrats are hopeful that the combination of the contents of LD 1735 and new abortion access laws will help bring the bill to the floor.
Democrats are giving no thought to the possibility that their bill’s language will be widespread. Instead of announcing its intentions publicly like LD1735, the new bill is being hidden using a legislative trick called a “concept draft.” This allows draft amendments to new bills to be made available to legislators without exposing them to voters.
daily caller received A “concept draft” of LD227 by Courage Is A Habit President Alvin Lui. Mr. Louis said representative sources sent him a draft idea for LD227 as a warning of what Democrats were trying to pass.
“In Maine alone, taxpayers paid $60 million a year for gender-related procedures.”

Alexander Lonstein is a New York state-certified family attorney. We reviewed a copy sent to the Daily Caller and confirmed that LD227 is picking up where LD1735 left off.
““States are trying to integrate gender-affirming health services and reproductive health as the same thing,” Lonstein said, adding, “This essentially sets a precedent that they are the same legal right. ” he added. (ROOKE: State Senate wants to legalize production of obscene material (pornography) available to minors)
Lonstein said LD227 would make it illegal for parents to deny medical care to transgender minors.
“[LD227] It seeks to invalidate laws in other states that prohibit the same practices that Maine is trying to “protect.” “Basically, the state of Maine is saying we don’t fully respect the faith and credit clause of the Constitution,” he said. “This makes abortion and gender reassignment legally protected activities in Maine, making it essentially a criminal offense to refuse such treatments. It also requires insurance companies to provide coverage for these treatments. I’m forcing you to do it.”
Lonstein told the Daily Caller that the most concerning language in LD227 is in subsection 5 (page 8).
“governor May not extradite a person to be charged in another state as a result of engaging in legally protected medical activity or assisting in legally protected medical activity unless the administrative authority of the requesting state asserts in writing that the suspect was physically present in the requesting state at the time of the criminal act and that the defendant has since fled the requesting state. For purposes of this subsection, “aid and support of legally protected health care activities” and “legally protected health care activities” are the same as title 14, section 9002, subsections 1 and 6, respectively. It has meaning. ”
“Seriously, this is insane political hyperbole. It’s like northern states are competing with each other to see how far they can push the boundaries of ‘gender-affirming care.’ The fact that they lump abortion and gender-affirming care together essentially means that the state recognizes that biological males can have an abortion and that abortion is a protected right. ” he said.
Let’s give the transgender cult another defeat.

Lonstein said that while LD227 is “less aggressive” in its external attacks on parental rights than LD1735, “it will have a similar impact.” This is an issue Louis told the Daily Caller that his own organization wants to stop, calling LD227 a transgender cult’s “institutionalization of as many clauses as possible to destroy parental rights.” “It’s a desperate attempt to push the situation.” (ROOKE: Montana child trafficking story reveals Republican weakness in protecting America’s children)
“LD 227 is without a doubt the most frightening bill I have worked on since I began fighting transgender trafficking legislation,” Louis said. “Maine is trying to piggyback on an abortion bill after failing to pass its original transgender trafficking bill in January 2024.”
Louie said the bill would not only allow minors to cross state lines to obtain transgender hormones and procedures, but would also provide “protections for adults who traffic minors into Maine. “This will deter families from filing medical malpractice lawsuits, as some detransitioners do.” end. “
Courage is a Habit attorney Joel Thorton told the Daily Caller that LD 227 allows parents to file civil lawsuits against adults who support minor children in Maine or transgender care. He said that it is considered “adversarial litigation” and prevents civil lawsuits from being filed. It also provides compensatory damages, punitive damages, and equitable relief.
Attorneys General of Tennessee, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, and West Virginia signed Followed by a letter pledging to oppose the bill.
“LD 227 seeks to violate the legitimate policy choices of Maine’s citizens by imposing its views on other states on hotly debated issues such as child sex reassignment surgery,” the letter states. It is written. “The broad provisions of this law are unprecedented. ID 227 is not only intended to shield persons from liability who provide or assist in the provision of illegal services to citizens residing within the state; The provision, the planning system contends, would protect Maine health care providers and patients “from prohibitive or restrictive out-of-state laws.” It’s legal care in Maine. ”
In a remarkable show of solidarity, 15 state attorneys general sent a letter opposing Maine’s appalling LD227 trans trafficking and abortion bill.

“In America, we have the right to disagree. Maine has the right to decide what Maine’s laws are and how those laws should be enforced.” But the same rights apply to all states. One state cannot control another. The totalitarian impulse to suppress dissent and oppress dissent is something we share. It has no place in America,” the AG promised. “We will not allow laws like LD 227 to prevent us from protecting the integrity of our nation’s democratic processes. If Maine pursues LD 227’s constitutionally flawed approach, We will aggressively use all the tools the Constitution provides.”
State Senate Health Care, Insurance, and Financial Services Committee I’ll vote Thursday, March 21 at LD227.
