Athletes competing in the Paris Summer Games have plenty of condoms, but no air conditioning.
“We designed these buildings to be comfortable places to live in the summers of 2024 and beyond. We also oriented the facades so that they don’t let in too much wind, so these buildings don’t need air conditioning. “The insulation from the summer sun and the façade are very good,” said Jan Kryszynski, who is in charge of infrastructure development for the Games.

However, it appears that the building where the players will live will have some type of cooling system installed. According to Reuters, cooling water will be circulated on the floor of the room to generate cold water.
The decision to discontinue traditional air conditioning systems follows the organizing committee’s desire to make Paris 2024 a record-breaking event in terms of reducing carbon emissions.

Once the Olympics are over, planners plan to use the buildings that once housed athletes to house up to 6,000 Parisians. Attempts to create carbon history come with risks.Approximately 5,000 people died France experienced a sweltering heat wave last year, and forecasters say similar conditions are expected this summer.
