Swanton District Border Patrol agents continue to face record-breaking levels of migrant insecurity in the tri-state region along the Canada-U.S. border. In the first five months of this fiscal year, Swanton District officers arrested more than 4,000 immigrants, an increase of 110 percent from the same period last year.
An unofficial Border Patrol report reviewed by Breitbart Texas revealed that Swanton area officers arrested nearly 900 migrants during February. This is an increase of over 105% compared to February of the previous year. This brings the total for the 2024 fiscal year, which began on October 1, 2023, to more than 4,000 immigrants.
Earlier this month, Swanton District Chief Patrol Agent Robert Garcia reported to X that his agents arrested more immigrants in fiscal year 2023 than in the previous 11 years combined. He added that his agent has doubled the pace of breaking records in the first four months of last year. According to CBP’s official National Encounter Report, agents encountered 3,192 people in the first four months of this year. During the same period of 23 years, these agents encountered 1,514 immigrants. The Swanton District covers the Canada-U.S. border in eastern New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire.
