A Florida man yelled a racist rant on a recent American Airlines flight, threatening to “shoot this plane down.” Video shows an unruly passenger being physically removed from an airliner after ranting about a “blue-eyed white devil” on board.
Shail Patel, 29, was on an American Airlines flight from Tampa to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday.
Court documents say Patel was intoxicated when he boarded the plane.
While the plane was still on the ground at Tampa International Airport, Patel began “hostifying passengers, calling flight attendants names, threatening passengers, and moving aggressively around the plane,” the complaint said.
“I am trying to go to my homeland and you have made it difficult for me to go to my homeland,” Patel can be seen shouting in the video.
According to court documents, Patel called American Airlines passengers “white devils with blue eyes” and threatened to “shoot down this plane with all the mothers on board.”

Video of the incident shows a fellow passenger trying to escort Patel to the front of the plane, but a physical altercation ensues. Mr Patel was struck in the face by a passenger and was ejected.
The passenger then put Patel in a headlock and forced him to the ground.
Passengers shouted, “Hands down, don’t touch anyone!”
The flight attendant used the announcement system to ask if an off-duty police officer was available to help remove Patel from the plane. Police said six off-duty police officers were on board the flight.
The video shows other male passengers restraining Patel and removing him from the plane.
“Prior to the departure of American Airlines Flight 2506 from Tampa (TPA) to Philadelphia (PHL), we received a request from law enforcement regarding a customer engaging in disruptive behavior on board,” American Airlines said in a statement. “I will.” We would like to thank our team for their professionalism and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. ”
The plane was delayed for 30 minutes because of an unruly passenger.
Patel, from Tampa, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and one count of unlawful intoxication.
Patel is being held in the Hillsborough County Jail on $2,150 bail.
