House Republicans have publicly criticized former President Trump for encouraging his primary challenger to run against another Republican.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) accused President Trump of “bullying” his colleague, Rep. Laurel Lee (R-Fla.), in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday.

“This is useless and unjust,” the liberal agitator wrote.

Massey praised Lee, a first-term congressman, as a “conservative and thoughtful member” of the House Judiciary Committee.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) accused former President Trump of “bullying” one of his House Republican colleagues.

“She was supportive. [Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis] However, after DeSantis withdrew from the race, he supported Trump. More of his colleagues should call out these ridiculous bullying tactics,” Massey concluded.

Next was a post from Congressman Chip Roy (R-Texas), who has criticized President Trump in the past. He added his support by commenting, “Co-sponsor.”

“Are there any great MAGA Republicans considering running against Laurel Lee in Florida’s 15th Congressional District?” Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social app Sunday night. If you think so, please come forward!”, calling for a primary challenger to Lee.

Fox News Digital has reached out to spokespeople for the former president and Lee’s re-election campaign for a response.

Before running for Congress, Lee served as Florida’s secretary of state in the DeSantis administration from 2019 to part of 2022.

She was the Sunshine State’s top elections official in 2021 when Mr. DeSantis announced that Florida would not audit the 2020 presidential election, despite requests from Mr. Trump’s allies. In Florida, Trump defeated current President Biden by about 3 percentage points.

Lee was the only member of Florida’s House delegation to support the governor against Trump. Massie and Roy also supported DeSantis when he was running in the Republican primary, but only Lee switched his support to Trump in late January when DeSantis withdrew from the race.

Mr. Trump called for a primary challenger to Mr. Roy late last year.
