California man allegedly seen carrying severed leg of pedestrian who was killed by train

Law enforcement authorities in Kern County, California, arrested a man Friday who left the scene of a fatal Amtrak crash with his leg severed, according to reports.

FOX 58 in Bakersfield reports that 27-year-old Recendo Telles was arrested and charged with taking evidence from a crime scene.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office and BNSF Railway Police responded to a report of a pedestrian being hit by a train at the Amtrak station in Wasco around 8 a.m. Friday.

An unidentified person died after being hit by a train.

After the crash, a man, later identified as Telles, was seen stealing the pedestrian’s leg and walking down the street with it.

Telles was later located by officers without incident and arrested.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office and Amtrak did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s inquiries regarding this matter.

Telles was charged with taking evidence from the scene and was found to have multiple outstanding warrants.
