Mick Mulvaney, former President Donald Trump’s acting chief of staff, called his former boss “President Trampoline” on Monday after his bail was reduced in a civil fraud case in New York.
“If he was acquitted in New York in the hush-money case… he would say, ‘Look, this proves it. There was nothing to begin with. It was politically motivated to begin with.’ and Mulvaney Said on NewsNation Interview with “Dan Abrams Live” host Jesse Weber.
“So, in a way, I know it’s unnatural to say this, but you win when you win and you win when you lose. That’s the nature of Donald Trump. He’s just Teflon-coated. “He’s the ultimate person, the trampoline president, so to speak,” Mulvaney said.
Trump on Monday won a ruling from the New York Court of Appeals to reduce his bail in a civil fraud case from nearly $500 million to $175 million. The former president said on Truth Social that he and his co-defendants will post new bail.
“We will post bonds, equivalent securities, or cash, as determined by the Appellate Division,” Trump said.
But Trump lost another legal battle on Monday, as his hush money case in New York was scheduled to begin on April 15, and Trump had sought to delay the case.
President Trump slammed Judge Juan Machan, who set the trial date. Posted on Tuesday’s Truth Social.
“Judge Juan Marchan is very good-looking, but he has been certified as a true Trump hater, suffering from a very severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. We are doing it!” Trump’s post reads.
