This iconic bridge has never served a railway and has only been used as a road since its construction in the early 1970s.
According to the Maryland State Transportation Authority (MDTA), the Francis Scott Key Bridge opened in March 1977 as the last link to Interstate 695.
The 1.6-mile Key Bridge spans the Patapsco River and is where Francis Scott Key was inspired to write the lyrics to the national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner,” according to MDTA.

However, Mr. Cole did not attend the annual general meeting because he had been dead for four years by the time the annual general meeting was held. Instead, former German Chancellor Angela Merkel attended the rally.
